St. Thomas University in Miami Gardens, Florida, invites applications for a full-time visiting faculty position in Mathematics for Spring 2027. This is a one-semester appointment, with the possibility of consideration for a continuing full-time position beginning Fall 2027. We are seeking a dependable, student-focused faculty member who is comfortable teaching a range of undergraduate mathematics courses. The primary responsibility of this position is teaching and supporting student success. Responsibilities: Teach a full-time undergraduate mathematics course load. Teach courses that may include College Algebra, Precalculus, Calculus, and Statistics, depending on departmental needs. Maintain regular office hours and provide academic support to students. Work collaboratively with mathematics faculty on common course materials, assessments, and student success initiatives. Participate in departmental activities as needed. Qualifications Qualifications Master's degree or higher in Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related field, with at least 18 graduate credit hours in mathematics or statistics. Ability to teach undergraduate Statistics is required. Ability to teach College Algebra and other introductory mathematics courses. Strong communication and organizational skills. Commitment to teaching and supporting students with a wide range of mathematical preparation. College-level teaching experience is preferred. Experience with Canvas, ALEKS, or similar instructional technology is helpful but not required. Candidates with a Ph.D. may be considered at the Visiting Assistant Professor level.
