Job description

This role is strategic in ensuring the company's tax compliance, handling tax calculations, regulatory filings, and providing technical support to business areas. The analyst will interpret current legislation, propose improvements to tax processes, and collaborate with internal teams and audits, always aligned with Mattel's "One Team" principle. What You’ll Do Tax Compliance and Return – Brazil: Perform ICMS, IPI, PIS, and COFINS tax calculations, prepare and submit tax returns, and follow up on tax adjustments and compliance matters. Tax Closing – LATAM: Perform tax account reconciliations, prepare journal entries, and follow up on accounting adjustments. Tax Operations – Brazil: Review and process inbound invoices, returns, freight transactions, credit memos, and tax invoice issuance. Tax Credits – Brazil: Monitor tax credits and incentives, identify discrepancies, and assess tax recovery opportunities. Withholding Taxes – Brazil: Reconcile withholding taxes, validate tax payments, and support tax compliance and reporting requirements. Tax Compliance – Peru and Chile: Manage detracciones and retenciones in Peru and perform VAT reconciliations in Chile. Internal Controls and Tax Systems: Ensure tax data accuracy, support audits and tax inspections, drive process improvements, participate in system testing, and contribute to Brazilian Tax Reform initiatives. Who We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. Experience with tax procedures, tax closings, and accounting reconciliations. Practical knowledge of Brazilian indirect taxes, particularly ICMS, IPI, PIS, and COFINS, as well as tax reform. Experience with withholding taxes and reconciling supplier withholdings. Experience preparing and verifying journal entries and reconciling accounting accounts. Knowledge of SPED Fiscal (EFD ICMS/IPI). Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/HLOOKUP, and reconciliation formulas. Ability to work with multiple deadlines and closing activities. Intermediate English or intermediate Spanish Nice To Have Experience working at multinational companies with operations in Latin America Experience with Oracle Fusion, Power Query, Tax One, or equivalent systems Experience with tax benefits Experience with withholding tax reconciliations Experience with system implementation projects and tax process improvements Don’t meet every single requirement?
