Job description

As part of a hardworking team of specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will support the off-shore recovery of the New Glenn first stage booster from touchdown to returning to port. This includes the vehicle operations required to safe and secure the booster, as well as the operations and technical ownership of the system on the Landing Platform Vessel (LPV) that interface with the booster. The ideal candidate is operations-focused, calm under pressure, and deeply committed to safety and mission success. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop procedures, real-time flight rules, and safety controls that protect our people, hardware, and environment while supporting an efficient launch cadence. Leveraging systems thinking, disciplined operations practices, and sound engineering judgment, you will help deliver on Blue Origin’s mission of building a road to space for the benefit of Earth. Marine Mechanical & Test Engineering Internship Projects – Our interns gain hands-on experience! Projects may involve aspects of applied marine engineering including design, analysis and test of mechanical systems, propulsion systems, and structures. Required Qualifications: Interest in marine operations, vessel systems, or offshore engineering Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program and have at least one semester or quarter of school remaining after the internship. Completed at least one year of full-time coursework post high school graduation at the time of application (obtained sophomore standing). Available to work full time for 15 weeks while not concurrently enrolled in coursework. Ability to work in a hands-on, field-based environment Desired: We would love to see the following experience! Familiarity with CONOPS development, operational procedures, or mission planning Familiarity with marine vessel systems (propulsion, power generation, HVAC, deck machinery, etc.) Exposure to Ground System Equipment (GSE) design, mechanical systems, or hardware integration Experience with maintenance planning, work order systems, or reliability engineering Coursework or experience in electrical systems, controls, or systems integration Comfort working aboard vessels and in shipyard/port environments Relevant internship/co-op and academic project experience that demonstrates development of both technical skills as well as leadership qualities. Hands-on project experience. We offer housing and relocation support. Interns are responsible for daily transportation to and from their work locations.
