Florida Blue 2027 IT Summer Internship Program Florida Blue's Remote IT Summer Internship program is designed to give college juniors, seniors, and graduate students a hands-on look at our business processes and the tech systems that power them. You'll work on real projects, get on-the-job training, and partner with a mentor from your track-specific team. Generative AI You'll dive deep into the world of applied generative AI at GuideWell — working hands-on with enterprise AI platforms to design, build, and deploy solutions that solve real business problems. From prompt engineering and agentic workflows to tool integrations and responsible AI practices, you'll collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to bring AI capabilities to life across the organization. To succeed in this role, you'll need: A strong foundation in how large language models work, including prompting techniques, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and agentic/tool-use patterns Experience with LLM APIs and application frameworks (e.g., LangChain, or similar orchestration tools); experience with open-source or commercial models is a plus Proficiency in Python; familiarity with ML/DL frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch is a plus but not required Data manipulation and statistical analysis skills Curiosity about responsible and effective AI adoption — how to evaluate, govern, and scale AI solutions in a business setting, not just build them A passion for generative AI that drives you to push boundaries and explore new possibilities A background in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, AI/ML, Data Science, Mathematics/Statistics, etc. is preferred. Infrastructure As an Infrastructure intern, you'll help in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to safeguard our company data, databases, and information systems. You'll be the one who keeps our technology secure, efficient, and running at peak performance. To succeed in this role, you'll need: A knack for designing, implementing, and troubleshooting technology Experience in monitoring and maintaining complex systems A passion for keeping our digital kingdom safe and secure The skills to develop and implement policies that protect our tech assets Basic skills/experience: Knowledge or experience with AI platforms, LLMs, or supporting AI infrastructure/integrations is a plus Knowledge of Linux commands and understanding of how to work with Linux boxes Basic understanding of OpenShift and Kubernetes Cloud Engineering As a Cloud Services intern, you'll delve into the world of infrastructure as code, networking, automation, data storage, and security, using industry-leading platforms like Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure. To succeed in this role, you'll need: A curious and adventurous spirit, always eager to learn and explore A willingness to take on new challenges and push the boundaries of what's possible A passion for cloud computing and its endless possibilities The drive to stay ahead of the curve and master the latest cloud technologies Experience with AWS or Azure is preferred Cybersecurity As a Cybersecurity intern, you'll have the chance to work alongside the best in the business, tackling real-world challenges and projects that make a real difference.
