Purpose The Student Services Coordinator manages academic record processes for Fine Arts Student Affairs and serves as a conduit of information regarding university policies, procedures, and resources for its undergraduate students. Responsibilities SERVICES COORDINATION: Manage incoming student messages to central student affairs office, responding promptly and efficiently to routine questions and farming out more complex messages to team/college subject matter experts for direct reply. Meet with students experiencing acute non-academic challenges; connect students with appropriate college and campus resources for long-term support. Coordinate responses to inquiries from administrators, parents, faculty, and staff. PROCESS MANAGEMENT: Process non-automated Q-drop, pass/fail change, withdrawal, late registration, tuition rebate, and other university transactions. Serve as primary liaison with relevant university units, notably the Office of the Registrar. Apply and interpret Fine Arts and university-wide policies and procedures. COMMUNICATION COORDINATION: Oversee Student Affairs website content: write or revise copy, improve functionality and appearance, keep information and links up to date. Disseminate Student Affairs information to students, primarily through EAB Navigate campaigns and editorial oversight of student electronic newsletter (Doty Digest). WORK-STUDY SUPERVISION: Hire, train, and supervise one to two student work-study employees. Promote exceptional customer service, insisting upon client interactions that are friendly, accurate, and thorough. Manage schedules, ensuring work-study front desk coverage when full-time staff are unavailable. Assign work-study staff appropriate tasks in support of Student Affairs. DEGREE CERTIFICATION: Cross-train on Degree Coordinator duties. Provide surge and backup assistance reviewing graduation applications, processing degree audit updates, and revising student degree planning materials. DIRECTOR INITIATIVE SUPPORT: Work with the Director of Student Affairs to review, streamline, design, and document policies, procedures, and practices for the College. Assist Director with planning and executing student affairs initiatives and special projects. TEAM ENGAGEMENT: Work closely with Student Affairs leadership to troubleshoot problems, enhance efficiency, and strengthen unit excellence. Actively participate in team meetings and decision making. Advance Fine Arts Student Affairs objectives and contribute to its programs. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND UNIVERSITY SERVICE: Increase knowledge and abilities through continuing education and professional development. Serve on Fine Arts Appeals Committee. Serve on other college or university committees when called upon. Staff student events (Commencement, Gone to Fine Arts, etc.).
