Job description

Snap Inc is a technology company. We believe the camera presents the greatest opportunity to improve the way people live and communicate. Snap contributes to human progress by empowering people to express themselves, live in the moment, learn about the world, and have fun together. The Company operates Snapchat , a visual messaging app that enhances your relationships with friends, family, and the world, and Specs Inc. , a wholly-owned subsidiary dedicated to making computing more human, in addition to Bitmoji , Saturn, and other digital services. The Product team combines creativity, data-driven insights, and operational excellence to shape the experiences that make Snapchat engaging and impactful for our global community. This team of Designers, Product Managers, and Strategists works collaboratively across areas like Core Growth, Content, Bitmoji, Augmented Reality, AI, and Emerging Products. Together, they craft innovative solutions that enhance user connections, elevate content and AR experiences, and drive the growth and evolution of Snapchat's core platform. We're looking for a Staff Product Manager, Growth to join our Product team at Snap Inc! What You'll Do Own the product and machine learning roadmap for Snapchat Search, including relevance, retrieval, and ranking. Grow Search as a destination for discovering people, creators, and content across Snapchat. Advance the retrieval and ranking systems behind Search, and build the evaluation frameworks and quality bar that determine what ships. Own how topical content is organized, ranked, and surfaced across Snapchat's web and in-app experiences. Improve how Snapchatters find and connect with the people they are looking for, partnering closely with friending product and ranking teams. Define and track the success metrics for Search, and the measurement approach behind them. Design and run experiments, interpret results rigorously, and recommend when to scale, iterate, or stop based on user impact, business impact, and product quality. Partner day-to-day with machine learning engineering, design, data science, user research, and trust and safety, and align adjacent teams on shared goals and dependencies. Set the strategy and communicate it: priorities, progress, learnings, and results, to your team, to cross-functional partners, and to senior leadership. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Deep expertise in ML-driven ranking, retrieval, search, or recommendation systems, with the ability to hold your own with engineers on retrieval architecture, training data, and evaluation design. Ability to develop and communicate a holistic strategy for how an area of products advances a long-term vision, not just a roadmap of features. Strong judgment about where to invest and what to stop, with the ability to root-cause complex problems and make durable decisions from incomplete information. Fluency with experimentation and data: you form clear hypotheses, run clean tests, and let the results change your mind. High degree of ownership and urgency; comfortable prioritizing and operating with ambiguity across a broad scope. Strong cross-functional collaboration and influence skills that drive execution in fast-moving environments, including with teams that do not report to you. User-first mindset, with an understanding of how to grow products responsibly and sustainably alongside content quality and safety considerations. Mentorship instinct: you raise the craft of the product managers around you and contribute to recruiting. Minimum Qualifications BS/BA degree or equivalent years of practical work experience 8+ years of experience building and shipping products at a technology company; OR a Masters and 7+ years of experience Preferred Qualifications Experience owning an ML-powered product surface, including the model roadmap Experience on consumer growth teams in a fast-paced B2C environment Experience with search, discovery, or feed ranking at scale, including semantic or embedding-based r
