Job description

About Fervo Energy Fervo Energy (NASDAQ: FRVO) is a modern power company developing next-generation geothermal resources to meet the growing demand for affordable, reliable, 24/7 carbon-free energy. Our mission is to transform geothermal into America’s most dependable and affordable source of clean, around-the-clock power. By combining innovations in horizontal drilling, fiber-optic sensing, and advanced reservoir engineering, Fervo has developed a repeatable approach to building utility-scale enhanced geothermal systems. Our flagship Cape Station development in Utah is planned to deliver 500 MW of firm, carbon-free power, and we are advancing a development pipeline of more than 50 GW. Join us and work alongside world-class engineers, geoscientists, operators, project builders, and business leaders working to make geothermal a cornerstone of a more reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy future. Position Description The Senior Technical Product Manager, Internal Software will lead the development of internal software tools across Fervo. This role is the connective tissue between our internal users and the engineers building the tools they need, turning ambiguous internal needs into clear, actionable product requirements. Unlike a traditional product role focused on external customers, you will work across engineering, construction, drilling, completions, supply chain, finance, and operations to understand how work gets done and to identify the workflows that slow execution. The ideal candidate is a deeply technical product manager, or a former software engineer who can code, partner credibly with engineers, and move comfortably between product strategy and software execution. Experience in geothermal, energy, drilling, or construction is not required. In the near term, this role will own product direction, technical scoping, delivery, adoption, and build-vs-buy decisions, and over time has the potential to evolve into leadership of Fervo’s internal software development team as the function scales. Beyond strong software judgment and product instincts, the ideal candidate brings comfort with ambiguity and the ability to build useful tools quickly in a fast-moving environment. Responsibilities Product Ownership: Own internal software product development from idea to adoption. Work closely with teams across Fervo to understand their workflows, pain points, operating rhythms, and decision-making needs, and translate ambiguous business problems into clear product requirements, technical specs, user stories, and success criteria. Design for a connected software ecosystem rather than one-off applications, ensuring tools integrate with existing systems, data sources, and future internal platforms. Measure success through adoption, workflow improvement, and business impact, not just shipped features. Engineering Partnership: Partner closely with software engineers, contractors, and technical partners to scope, sequence, and deliver internal tools. Bring enough software fluency to evaluate technical tradeoffs, ask tough questions, and make pragmatic implementation decisions. Write clear technical product requirements, and own delivery cadence, backlog management, sprint planning, stakeholder updates, and risk escalation. Contribute technically when helpful, especially in early prototyping, agentic coding workflows, technical review, or lightweight implementation support. Tools for Fast-Moving Teams: Develop software that improves how Fervo manages complex work across engineering, construction, project execution, documentation, scheduling, modeling, procurement, and operations. Identify where teams rely on manual processes, disconnected data, or inefficient tools, and build products that are simple, usable, and practical. Sit with users before and after launch, and create feedback loops that drive continuous product improvement. Build-vs-Buy Decisions: Audit Fervo’s current internal software stack and identify where existing tools a
