Reporting to the Director of the IT PMO or a department leader, the Senior Technical Project Manager collaborates closely with IT architects, clinical informatics, application analysts, cybersecurity, and business stakeholders to ensure timely, on-budget, and high-quality project delivery. This role manages the full project lifecycle—from initiation through implementation—while aligning with enterprise goals, regulatory requirements, and patient care priorities. Responsibilities Leads Full Technical Project Lifecycle Management Defines project scope, goals, deliverables, and success metrics. Develops detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocations. Manages technical project execution, ensuring milestones are met. Tracks and reports on project progress, risks, and issues. Facilitates project close-out and post-implementation reviews. Stakeholder Engagement and Communication Works closely with clinical, operational, and IT leaders to gather requirements. Facilitates stakeholder meetings and status updates. Aligns project goals with organizational strategy and compliance standards. Manages expectations and ensures stakeholder engagement. Resolves conflicts and escalates issues as needed. Manages Technical Implementation Activities Coordinates with technical teams on system design and integration. Oversees vendor deliverables and third-party implementations. Ensures adherence to cybersecurity, interoperability, and data governance standards. Supports testing, validation, and go-live activities. Troubleshoots technical issues during deployment. Oversees Budget and Resource Management Develops and manages project budgets and forecasts. Tracks expenditures and ensures cost control. Allocates internal and external resources effectively. Identifies resource gaps and proposes mitigation strategies. Prepares financial reports for leadership. Ensures Regulatory and Quality Compliance Ensures projects meet regulatory standards. Coordinates with compliance and legal teams as needed. Documents project decisions and audit trails. Supports internal and external audits. Integrates quality improvement principles into project design. Mentors and Supports Technical Project Team Members Provides guidance to junior project managers and analysts. Shares best practices and lessons learned.
