Job description
At Affirm, we exist for the moments that matter—giving people a clear, predictable way to pay over time, with no hidden fees, no surprises, and no tradeoffs on what matters most. Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, giving consumers the flexibility to buy now and pay later without any hidden fees or compounding interest. Our mission to deliver honest financial products that improve lives extends beyond borders. Consumers across the globe need safe, transparent financing. Our retail partners need Affirm to be there for them, wherever that might be. To help achieve this vision, we are expanding our product lines and becoming a global company. The International product team is responsible for building and scaling Affirm’s products and experiences across international markets. This role focuses on consumer payments, making it easier for consumers to repay Affirm and ensuring payments are processed safely and cost-effectively. As a Senior Product Manager on the International team, you will drive the strategy, execution, and growth of Affirm’s consumer payments products across international markets – from iterating on the product vision, refining the product strategy, developing a roadmap, and leading execution. In this role, you will work closely with a broad set of cross functional teams across the entire business, as well as a number of engineering teams. Effective stakeholder management and ability to successfully navigate organizational dynamics are a must for success. You should be commercially minded, be high agency with a bias towards action, and comfortable having technical conversations (and opinions). What You'll Do Drive the execution, growth, and scale of Affirm’s consumer payments products and experiences across international markets Take Affirm’s payment experiences and adapt them for international markets by understanding consumer needs and local payment preferences, analyzing performance data, and iterating on the product’s features and capabilities Drive success metrics by shipping high impact work and running experiments that improve the repayment experience, payment success, and processing cost Partner effectively with engineering teams across the organization to drive product development and prioritization Collaborate with stakeholders (such as Design, Research, Analytics, Finance, Partnerships, Legal, Compliance, Credit, Fraud, etc.) to shape your product roadmap and incorporate legal, governance, and regulatory oversight into your products Understand Affirm’s international consumers at a deep level: what’s important to them, what drives their decision making, why they love Affirm, and what they wish we could do better Identify and create the experiences that make it seamless for consumers to make and manage payments to Affirm, balancing customer needs, payment performance, cost, and risk What We Look For This isn’t your first rodeo. You’ve directly managed technical software products from kick-off to post-launch, driving meaningful business impact that you can speak to You have experience working on consumer technology products or payments You’re equally comfortable diving into technical details with an engineer, iterating on a Figma with a designer, and breaking down a funnel with a data analyst You have the discipline, organizational skills, and interpersonal communication skills necessary to navigate complex organizational dynamics – you have specific examples of times when you’ve secured a decision from a broad group of senior stakeholders You’ve worked in an environment where you were reliant on engineering teams outside of your direct purview and were able to effectively influence them to prioritize and build what you needed for your product You’re the kind of person who cares about getting things done. You have a bias towards action and can effectively navigate obstacles and blockers You can turn incomplete, conflicting, or ambiguous inputs into a solid action plan You have
