Lightspeed is looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our Onboarding team. Our customers are retailers ranging from simple merchants running a single store with a small product catalog, to scale merchants managing multiple stores and thousands of products, all of whom need to get up and running on Lightspeed as quickly as possible. In this role, you'll help define and optimize the onboarding funnel across these different retailer profiles, obsessing over reducing steps, cutting manual effort, and using data to help merchants hit key onboarding milestones in their first month and build a regular selling habit on POS. You'll help define a vision through iterative design and delivery. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of transforming complex workflows into simple, clear customer journeys with user-friendly interfaces that seamlessly integrate with other workflows. You excel at identifying opportunities to deliver value and thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with engineers and product managers to create exceptional customer experiences. What you’ll be doing: • Problem Solving: Lead project work from a design perspective with autonomy and authority, facilitating design reviews and working sessions to help the teams deliver the best possible solutions. Turn nebulous concepts into specific ideas that are useful and delightful product features. Explores and integrates AI and emerging technologies to shape new approaches. • Embedding Systems Thinking: Have UX expertise and deep understanding of design systems, UI design, and how micro-interactions can help users complete a task. Design holistic systems, flows and interfaces that are simple, elegant, and user-friendly. Understand how to use the current design system best to ensure consistency across platforms and contribute to its continuous improvement. • Driving User-Centricity: Draw insights from research and data, and know how to turn those insights into tangible solutions. Build relationships and advocate for the user when collaborating with cross-functional teams in product, engineering, and marketing. • Collaboration: Be a positive role model and culture carrier within the studio as well as an advocate for design within the Lightspeed organisation. What you need to bring: • At least 5 years of practical, in-house product, UX/UI design experience. • Excellent communication skills. You can bring internal stakeholders on your design journey and explain work with focus and brevity. • Strong aesthetic skills to help elevate the visual identity of our brands. • A curiosity to continuously evolve your design process by leveraging AI tools to deliver better, more user-centered products. • Applied experience working across all digital and physical manifestations of what we design - from the responsive web to native applications to the next technological leap. • An acute level of self-awareness and deep empathy - for both the customer and your team’s goals. • A deep curiosity and ability to consider product strategy and vision. You don’t just care about “how it looks,” or “what we should design,” but “why are we designing this at all?” • An arsenal of design tools such as Figma, Google Suite, JIRA, and other AI prototyping tools.
