Title: Senior Principal Electrical Engineer Job Summary The Senior Principal Electrical Engineer – Ground Combat Systems serves as a senior technical and acquisition authority supporting the modernization, integration, and lifecycle management of complex ground combat and training platforms. This position provides leadership across vehicle electrical architectures, RF and antenna integration, electronic warfare capabilities, threat systems, and multi-spectral signature management efforts. The role bridges engineering execution with Department of War acquisition, contracting, and fiscal management processes to ensure technical solutions align with operational requirements, program objectives, and milestone expectations. Working closely with government stakeholders, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams, the position drives technical rigor while supporting program cost, schedule, and performance objectives. Success in this role requires the ability to communicate complex technical concepts, maintain engineering baseline integrity, and provide informed recommendations that support mission effectiveness and acquisition success. Roles and Responsibilities Lead the integration, modernization, and lifecycle support of ground combat, threat, and training system platforms with emphasis on electrical, RF, antenna, and electronic architectures. Provide technical leadership for antenna placement, electromagnetic compatibility assessments, and integration of active and passive emitter systems, sensors, and countermeasure technologies. Evaluate vehicle electrical architectures and recommend design improvements to support mission effectiveness, survivability, and system interoperability. Develop, review, and manage Systems Engineering Plans (SEPs), Statements of Work (SOWs), Performance Work Statements (PWS), Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs), acquisition documentation, and engineering baselines. Support and participate in technical reviews including System Requirements Reviews (SRR), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR), and Critical Design Reviews (CDR). Conduct cost-benefit analyses, cost and price evaluations, execution tracking, and budget planning activities including Program Objective Memorandum (POM) support. Monitor contractor performance, manage prime and subcontractor execution issues, and provide Contracting Officer Representative (COR) oversight for Task Orders and IDIQ contracts. Support source selection activities through technical evaluations, requirements assessments, and acquisition planning efforts. Deliver senior-level technical and programmatic briefings to government leadership, stakeholders, and program management officials. Other duties as assigned in support of mission and business requirements. Basic Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline. Minimum of 9 years of engineering and acquisition experience supporting defense systems, military electronics, threat systems, or training systems. Active TS/SCI security clearance. Experience developing and managing SOWs, PWSs, acquisition plans, cost estimates, and IDIQ or Task Order contract vehicles. Experience supporting Department of War 5000-series acquisition processes, ACAT programs, and milestone reviews. Experience serving in Program Manager, COR, or equivalent acquisition oversight roles. Preferred Qualifications Antenna Engineering certification. Experience supporting RF system integration, antenna design considerations, or electronic warfare programs. Experience with ground combat vehicle modernization and survivability initiatives. Experience leading source selections and contract evaluation activities.
