TransUnion's Job Applicant Privacy Notice Team Overview The UK Financial Control function is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, effective balance sheet control and reliable financial reporting across the business. The team works closely with Finance, Payroll, Tax, Human Resources, Technology and audit stakeholders to support financial compliance and informed decision-making. This role reports to the Cost Accounting Finance Manager.

This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week. Role Overview And Core Responsibilities The Senior Financial Control Analyst is a 6-month fixed-term position providing continuity during a secondment. The role delivers accurate and timely accounting across payroll, month-end close, balance sheet control, fixed assets and capital expenditure while maintaining robust documentation and effective financial controls. Day to Day You’ll Be: Prepare and post monthly payroll journals across legal entities and cost centres, reconcile payroll and employee-related balance sheet accounts, and resolve identified variances. Produce payroll, headcount and employee-cost reporting, including actual-to-forecast analysis, while maintaining bonus, Long-Term Incentive Plan and employer National Insurance accruals and supporting Employee Stock Purchase Plan reconciliations. Deliver month-end journals, accruals, prepayments, recharges and intercompany reconciliations with complete and appropriate supporting documentation. Review income statement and balance sheet movements, investigate variances, provide clear commentary and work with process owners to validate balances and resolve accounting queries. Prepare and certify balance sheet reconciliations in BlackLine, resolving or escalating aged, material or unsupported items and maintaining audit-ready control evidence. Manage the monthly project-costing and capitalisation process, including rates, coding, journals, reconciliations and Work in Progress reviews. Apply group accounting policy when classifying capital and operating expenditure, assess projects for capitalisation and reconcile the fixed asset register to the general ledger. Prepare capital expenditure returns, support impairment reviews and assist with research and development expenditure analysis and tax credit claims. Maintain relevant audit, tax and professional-fee accruals, prepare Value Added Tax adjustments, support annual employee-tax reporting processes and escalate control failures, compliance issues or missed deadlines. Required Knowledge And Experiences Part-qualified or qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA, or equivalent practical accounting experience that provides the knowledge required to perform the role. Strong experience of month-end accounting, payroll accounting, balance sheet control and fixed assets or capital expenditure. Experience preparing robust reconciliations, investigating accounting issues and maintaining complete, audit-ready supporting evidence. Working knowledge of financial-control principles, with the ability to apply accounting policies and escalate judgemental, material or unsupported items appropriately. Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and deliver accurate outputs within established reporting deadlines. Required Technical Skills Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to analyse financial information, investigate variances and prepare clear reporting. Practical experience preparing and posting journals, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations and intercompany accounting entries. Ability to operate financial-control and reconciliation processes across multiple legal entities and cost centres. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret income statement and balance sheet movements and communicate meaningful findings. Clear written and verbal communication skills for working
