The Fleet Sustainment team is currently looking for a Senior Engineer. This position will provide technical support to engineering teams by collecting and analyzing technical data, producing engineering documentation and drawings, and performing calculations and preliminary analyses to support engineering decisions. The role also assists with testing and data recording, guides junior staff, coordinates with shipyards, OEMs, and subcontractors on ship alteration and overhaul activities, and supports configuration management for ships, systems, and equipment. *This role is contingent upon contract award.* Essential Job Responsibilities Provide technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks. Gather, maintain, format, compile, and manipulate technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Produce engineering documentation, reports, and drawings, including flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics. Perform detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas and preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided, including quantitative judgments concerning technical data. Use personal computer applications in performance of analyses and development of documentation and reports; may conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis. Provide direction and guidance to lower-level non-exempt employees; often serve as lead worker on assigned tasks. Coordinate with shipyards, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), and other subcontractors to support execution of ship alteration, repair, and overhaul work packages. Support configuration management activities documenting the current status of ships, systems, and equipment. Minimum Qualifications Eight (8) years of engineering experience, including at least five (5) years of specific naval engineering experience. Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or business-related field.
