Job description

Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards. Duties include washing and sanitizing dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment using manual and machine cleaning methods. This position also supports general kitchen cleanliness and performs additional tasks to support departmental operations. Job Responsibilities: Perform standard activities related to own area (e.g., operating cash register, managing cleaning tools/ equipment, preparing food according to the recipe, trash management), under direct supervision. Assist in resolving queries through prompt response and courteous service. Provide support in maintaining standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and freedom from hazards and infections. Attend all scheduled meetings and training sessions. Understand regulatory standards to ensure quality and safety compliance. Uphold the Culinary Standards and Values of teamwork, communication, and professionalism. Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution. Maintain regular and predictable attendance. Consistently meet job expectations, adhere to policies, and deliver quality work while applying St. Jude values and principles. Managers evaluate employee performance throughout the year—specifically through the spring and fall Check In milestones and the Annual Performance Review. All employees are encouraged to actively participate in these performance management processes. Minimum Education and/or Training: High school education/GED preferred Minimum Experience: 1+ years of food service experience or commercial dishwashing experience. Working knowledge of own area (e.g., food preparation, cash management, cleaning tools/ equipment, trash management), preferred. Basic understanding of safety and sanitary requirements of a food service operation, preferred. Licensure, Registration and/or Certification Required by SJCRH Only: ServSafe Food Handler Training Certificate Program or another American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accredited Food Handler Training Certificate Program required within thirty (30) days of hire.
