Posted Job Title Research Specialist A Job Profile Title Research Specialist A Job Description Summary The Laboratory Manager is the single operational hub of the Li Laboratory (Department of Genetics, Perelman School of Medicine), a group supporting multiple active NIH-funded projects. The position is responsible for the functions that every member of the lab depends on but no individual investigator or trainee is positioned to own: purchasing and inventory; tracking expenditures against grant budgets; maintaining IACUC, EHRS and other compliance documentation and training records; equipment service and maintenance; onboarding, training and day-to-day direction of technicians, students and temporary workers; and coordination with departmental business, facilities and animal-care staff. Without a dedicated manager these responsibilities fall to the PI and trainees, whose effort is committed to the funded aims. The position is critical because it is what allows the lab's research staff to execute those aims safely, compliantly and on schedule.
