Description The purpose of this position is to support retail refrigeration operations by performing HVAC repair and maintenance, rack refrigeration general maintenance and some routine general refrigeration maintenance service requests for retail stores. This position also performs special refrigeration projects for retail facilities and assists with the implementation of corporate projects. Primary Responsibilities This position is responsible for evaluating and performing HVACR repairs and general maintenance on all refrigeration systems and equipment in the Retail environment. This position is responsible for performing training and mentoring others This position is responsible for performing housekeeping duties Required Qualifications HVAC or Refrigeration Trade school completion or its equivalent 3 years working in refrigeration in either service or construction disciplines OR 1 year as a Refrigeration Tech 1 EPA Universal License A valid driver's license General supermarket HVAC and refrigeration knowledge Electrical circuit troubleshooting General knowledge and experience with Supermarket Energy Management Controls Independence Initiative Stress-Tolerance Time Management Applied Learning Problem Solving Building Relationships Customer Focus Team Building Active Listening Verbal Communication Written Communication Microsoft Word (Basic) Microsoft Excel (Basic) EMS systems Day trips/local travel: 100% Overnight trips: 10% Availability to work nights: Weekly Availability to work weekends: Weekly Availability to work holidays: Weekly Availability to work extended hours: Weekly Availability to be on call 24/7: Weekly Preferred Qualifications 5 years working in refrigeration in either service or construction disciplines OR 2 years as a Refrigeration Tech 1 Publix standards and procedures SAP Year End Bonus To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week’s pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks’ pay.
