The opportunity The Project Management Team Leader is responsible for leading and developing a team of Project Managers while ensuring the successful delivery of a portfolio of projects across the business. This role combines people leadership, operational management, customer engagement, and project governance to drive safety, execution excellence, team performance, and business growth. The successful candidate will act as the first line of leadership for the project management function, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer focus. Your responsibilities Team Leadership & People Development Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of Project Managers and Project Engineers to achieve business and project objectives. Foster a high-performance culture focused on safety, customer satisfaction, accountability, and continuous improvement. Conduct performance reviews, talent assessments, succession planning, and development planning for team members. Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of project management talent. Ensure appropriate resource allocation and workload balancing across the project portfolio. Provide guidance and escalation support to project teams throughout the project lifecycle. Drive employee engagement and support the professional development of the project management team. 1 Portfolio & Project Delivery Management Oversee a portfolio of projects, ensuring consistent application of project management methodologies, governance, and best practices. Monitor project performance across schedule, cost, quality, risk, cash flow, and customer satisfaction metrics. Ensure projects are appropriately resourced and supported to meet contractual and business objectives. Review project status, identify delivery risks, and implement corrective actions where required. Drive standardisation of project management processes, tools, reporting, and controls. Ensure lessons learned are captured and shared across the wider project management function. 2 Financial & Operational Management Support budget planning, forecasting, and resource management activities. Oversee project financial performance, including revenue, margin, cost control, cash collection, and forecasting. Track team utilisation and support strategic workforce planning. Contribute to the achievement of business performance objectives and operational targets. 3 Customer & Stakeholder Engagement Act as a senior escalation point for customers and internal stakeholders. Build trusted relationships with key customers, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. Work closely with Operations, Engineering, Sales, Commercial, and Service teams to ensure successful project delivery. Promote collaboration and effective communication across all functions. 4 Safety & Compliance Leadership Champion a strong health, safety, and environmental culture across the project management team. Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, governance requirements, and regulatory standards.
