Job description

About Abridge Founded in 2018, Abridge is the first AI-native clinician intelligence platform organized around the patient, built for clinicians, and designed to help health systems coordinate the clinical, financial, and evidence-based decisions for every moment of care. Powered by purpose-built AI for healthcare, Abridge connects patients, providers, payers, and life sciences companies. This year, the platform will support more than 100 million patient-clinician conversations across more than 300 of the largest and most complex health systems in the U.S. With deep workflow integration, the Abridge clinician intelligence platform has been validated to support encounters in 28+ languages across specialties and care settings. Abridge is setting the industry standard for the responsible deployment of Al across health systems with continual and transparent Al evaluation. Clinical decision support references and cites gold-standard sources of evidence, and features like Linked Evidence map AI-generated documentation to source data, helping clinicians quickly trust and verify the output. Abridge was awarded Best in KLAS for Ambient AI in 2025 and 2026, in addition to other accolades, including TIME Best Inventions of 2024 and 2025, CNBC Disruptor 2025, and Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies 2025. We are a growing team of practicing clinicians, AI scientists, PhDs, creatives, technologists, and engineers working together to transform healthcare. We have offices located in San Francisco, New York, and Pittsburgh. The Role Abridge is looking for a People Operations Generalist to join our People team and keep our core People Ops work running smoothly: onboarding, benefits, workers’ comp, compliance, and HR support tickets. You’ll work closely with the Head of People Operations and the rest of the People team to keep things running smoothly and build processes that keep up as we scale. This role suits someone who is proactive, moves fast, and brings solutions instead of questions. They’re resilient when priorities shift, comfortable with ambiguity, and have a bias for action. They enjoy owning the details, switching between tasks easily, and want to help scale People Ops at a fast-growing startup. What You’ll Do HR Support & Systems Triage and respond to employee questions in our HR ticketing system quickly and accurately, and escalate when needed. Use Rippling day to day to manage employee data and pull reports. Spot data issues and fix them before they cause problems. Find recurring ticket themes and turn them into self-serve resources or process fixes. Onboarding & Employee Lifecycle Own new hire onboarding from offer to first day, including paperwork, Rippling setup, and coordination with IT on devices and access. Make sure every new hire has a smooth, well-organized experience, and keep improving the experience as hiring accelerates. Benefits & Workers’ Comp Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, qualifying life events, open enrollment, and renewals, and be the first point of contact for employee benefits questions. Manage workers’ compensation claims from start to finish. Compliance Manage compliance programs, including audits, harassment prevention training, and other regulatory mandates. Lead compliance reporting requirements such as EEO-1 and state-specific filings, making sure submissions are on time and accurate. Maintain internal documentation (policies, calendars, audit trails) and build scalable processes that can flex with our team’s growth. Support audits and respond to regulatory inquiries with thorough, organized documentation and clear processes. Cross-Functional Partnership Work with Payroll, Legal, Finance, and IT to give employees a seamless experience. Jump in wherever there’s an operational gap, and help bring clarity and structure as we grow. What You’ll Bring 3–5 years of experience in People Operations, HR Generalist, or HR Coordinator roles.
