Job description
Job Description: At Remitly, we believe everyone deserves the freedom to access, move, and manage their money wherever life takes them. Since 2011, we've tirelessly delivered on our promise to customers sending money globally, providing secure, simple, and reliable ways to manage their money, ensuring true peace of mind. Whether it's supporting loved ones back home, growing a business across continents, or pursuing new opportunities abroad, we're not just here to move money— we're here to move our global customers forward. We're looking for builders, reimaginers, and global thinkers who want to work at the intersection of technology, trust, and transformation. If that's you and you're ready to do the most meaningful work of your career—we invite you to join over 2,800 passionate Remitlians worldwide who are united by our vision to transform lives with trusted financial services that transcend borders. Once a new hire says yes to Remitly, People Operations takes it from there. As our People Operations Coordinator, you'll help make every new teammate's start a great one. You'll keep employee records accurate and organized, help new hires feel ready and welcome from Day 1, manage background checks from start to finish, and be the person teammates turn to with their HR questions. Whether you're a fresh graduate or have a year of HR experience, this role gives you a strong foundation in people operations at a global fintech. You'll learn how HR works behind the scenes, collaborate with teams across the business, and see your work make a real difference for the people around you. This role is based in Mandaluyong City, Philippines, and reports directly to the People Operations Manager, APAC at Remitly PHL Operations Inc. You Will: 201 File and Employee Records Management Build, maintain, and audit employee 201 files (physical and digital) so every record is complete and up to date. Track document gaps and expiring requirements, and follow up with employees to close them on time. Update employee data in our HRIS (Workday) and trackers, getting the details right the first time. Handle all records in line with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173) and Remitly's data retention and confidentiality standards. Support internal and external audits by preparing records and reports when requested. Onboarding Guide new hires through pre-employment requirements (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, TIN, NBI clearance, medical results, and prior employment documents). Prepare onboarding documents and 201 files so everything is set before someone's first day. Partner with Talent Acquisition, IT, Global Workplace Services, and hiring managers to make sure new hires are set up and ready on Day 1. Help run orientation sessions and serve as a friendly first point of contact for new joiners during their first weeks. Background Checks Initiate and monitor background checks with our third-party vendor, making sure candidate consent and documentation are complete. Track turnaround times, follow up on pending or delayed cases, and keep stakeholders updated on status. Flag discrepancies or adverse findings to the People Operations Manager for review, and maintain accurate background check records. Ad Hoc HR Support Respond to employee HR inquiries and requests (e.g., Certificates of Employment, document requests, general policy questions) and route complex concerns to the right HR partner. Help manage HR helpdesk tickets and keep request queues moving within agreed timelines. Jump into People projects, engagement events, and ideas that make our processes faster and simpler. Provide administrative support to the People team, including scheduling, preparing materials, and maintaining trackers. You Have: Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Human Resource Development, Business Administration, or a related field. Open to fresh graduates.
