Part-Time Pre-K STEM & Literacy Teacher Location: Saco Pre-K Start Date: ASAP Hours: Part-Time (Daily Schedule, approx. 7 hours/day, 2 days/week) Position Summary: We are seeking a passionate and dynamic part-time Pre-K STEM & Literacy Teacher to join our early childhood team. In this specialist-style role, you will provide engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction to six Pre-K classrooms daily, focusing on foundational skills in science, technology, engineering, math (STEM), and early literacy. This is an exciting opportunity for an educator who thrives in a collaborative setting, enjoys working with young learners, and is eager to inspire curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning in our youngest students. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver 40 minute STEM and literacy-focused lessons to six Pre-K classrooms each school day. Design activities that are hands-on, play-based, and aligned with Maine Early Learning Guidelines and Pre-K for ME standards. Participate in school-wide duties, team meetings, and professional development. Monitor and assess student progress through observation and documentation, adjusting instruction as needed. Foster a nurturing, inclusive environment that supports the social-emotional and academic growth of Pre-K students. Qualifications: Maine DOE 081 � Early Childhood endorsement (required). Experience working with Pre-K aged children in a classroom or early childhood setting (preferred). Strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practices, especially in early STEM and literacy instruction. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with young children, colleagues, and families. Creativity, flexibility, and enthusiasm for early childhood education.
