We are seeking an Operations Engineer I – Measurement to join our Gas Transmission & Midstream (GTM) team in Nashville, Tennessee. Are you a recent or upcoming college graduate, new in your engineering career and exploring an interest in supporting natural gas transmission operations? In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring accurate natural gas measurement and regulation, supporting design and standards development, and driving continuous improvement. You will work at the intersection of engineering, field operations, and stakeholder collaboration — gaining hands-on experience across a region that spans 11 states in the Southeast. You will work alongside and coordinate with a variety of stakeholders, from front-line field technicians and project teams to operations support teams and management. What You Will Do: Gain experience providing technical guidance to field teams, identifying process improvements, and supporting safe, compliant operations. Learn to apply code and industry standards to engineering, material selection, testing, facility design, installation, and operational practices. Assist in supporting the full project lifecycle, including risk and integrity assessments, scoping, budgeting, forecasting, permitting, engineering, construction, commissioning, and documentation for a variety of project stakeholders. Review, approve, and coordinate measurement facility designs, procedures, and gas handling practices. Evaluate meter and measurement facilities, analyze data, and support operational audits to ensure measurement accuracy and reduce lost and unaccounted-for gas. Support the regional technical resource during emergency response events and provide reporting and information support to internal partners and third parties. Who You Are: Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical). 0–2+ years of related experience. Capable of working independently, managing multiple projects, and prioritizing tasks accordingly. Ability to solve complex problems through use of standards, industry best practices, and/or previous experience. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications. Currently located / willing to self-relocate to within 30 miles of the Nashville, TN office. Recent graduates with co-op or internship experience are highly preferred. Working Conditions: Must reside within 30 miles of Central Region's Nashville, TN office. Travel required: up to 50%, occasionally one full week or more at a time within the Central Region. Ability to travel and work throughout the United States. Extensive driving may be required to reach field locations due to the size of the Central Region, which covers 11 states in the Southeast surrounding Tennessee. A valid driver's license and maintenance of a responsible driving record is required which will be validated before hire. Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment in designated areas (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, boots, etc.). Ability to work in hot, cold, or inclement climates (outdoor conditions) as required.
