Job Summary We are seeking an experienced IT Analyst Applications (Java Developer) to join Order Fulfilment & Procurement–CAT IT Division to support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of Strategic Sales applications used globally by Sales professionals across Caterpillar. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting enterprise-scale applications while working closely with business users, architects, analysts, and global development teams. You will contribute to the delivery of reliable, scalable, and secure software solutions that support critical procurement processes. The preference for this role is to be based out of Bangalore – Caterpillar PSN This position requires candidate to work a 5-day -a -week schedule. Shift Timing: 01:00-10:00PM IST Procurement-CAT IT Division The incumbent would provide application and technical leadership to a global team responsible for the development and support of Strategic Sales systems. Applying systems solutions to business/technical problems through customer interactions, and by providing assistance to less experienced analysts in the design, programming, debugging, testing, and integration/implementation of complex, medium to large-sized automated information technology systems. This role will provide programming and application/technical leadership, guidance, mentoring and assistance to support team members, including onsite and offshore, for a suite of around 40 applications The preference for this role is to be based out of Whitefield PSN Office, Bangalore, India What you will do Design, develop, test, and implement Java-based applications and services supporting procurement business functions. Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and production support. Troubleshoot and resolve application issues, performance bottlenecks, and production incidents. Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Develop and maintain APIs, integrations, and backend services to support enterprise applications. Work with relational and cloud-based databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, and Snowflake. Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards, security best practices, and development guidelines. Support application enhancements, defect resolution, and system modernization initiative
