Your Impact: How You'll Help Us Heal a Broken System Verse Medical is a tech-enabled healthcare supplier providing specialized medical products and equipment nationwide. Our proprietary software platform automates traditionally manual workflows across intake, clinical documentation review, coverage determination, and billing. We are hiring our first General Counsel to build and lead our in-house legal and regulatory function. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will serve as the primary legal advisor across multi-state regulatory compliance, payer contracting, and enterprise growth. This is a high-impact, hands-on leadership role responsible for establishing our legal foundation from the ground up. What You'll Do • Regulatory & Healthcare Compliance: Direct multi-state healthcare regulatory strategy, overseeing DME licensure, accreditation, and compliance across Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer frameworks. • Commercial & Payer Contracting: Lead the structuring, negotiation, and execution of enterprise agreements with health systems and strategic partners. • Audit & Risk Mitigation: Manage payer audits, prepayment reviews, and risk management protocols across revenue cycle and clinical operations. • Product & Operational Counsel: Partner with Product, Engineering, and Clinical teams to ensure regulatory alignment before launching new service lines and software workflows. • Department Buildout: Act as a sole practitioner in year one, handling primary legal execution directly, while architecting the long-term legal and compliance infrastructure. What You'll Bring: The Skills and Experience You'll Leverage Required • JD and active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (NY admission or eligibility for in-house registration) • 10+ years of legal experience, with substantial time spent on healthcare regulatory matters • Top decile attention to detail.
