Scripps-owned KTNV, the ABC affiliate in Las Vegas, is looking for a Executive Reporter who believes great journalism starts with great storytelling. In this leadership role, you’ll help elevate the craft across the newsroom, working alongside reporters and MMJs to create authentic, meaningful stories that connect with the Las Vegas community. You’ll bring a sharp editorial eye, a passion for developing people, and the ability to turn everyday assignments into memorable journalism. You’ll also partner with newsroom leaders to bring our content strategy to life across platforms while maintaining the highest journalistic standards. If you’re an accomplished storyteller who gets energized by helping other journalists grow, this is an opportunity to make an impact both inside the newsroom and throughout the community we serve. WHAT YOU'LL DO: Lead the development and enhancement of storytelling skills for reporters and MMJs across the newsroom. Coach and mentor journalists at all experience levels, helping them discover creative ways to strengthen their reporting, writing, and storytelling. Collaborate with newsroom leaders to consistently execute the station’s content strategy through authentic, meaningful journalism. Oversee story writing and development across platforms, providing timely and actionable feedback that encourages continuous improvement. Develop and supervise effective workflows, strategies, and procedures supporting multiple news programs and platforms. Ensure content consistently meets journalistic standards and ethical guidelines. Create and communicate a clear storytelling vision that builds trust among reporters, photographers, and other newsroom colleagues. Contribute on-air and multi-platform coverage during breaking news when needed. Support evolving newsroom priorities and perform other duties as assigned. WHAT YOU'LL NEED: Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline preferred, or equivalent professional experience. Generally 7+ years of experience in journalism, news, storytelling, or a related field preferred. A valid driver’s license and ability to meet applicable driving requirements for the role. WHAT YOU'LL BRING: Demonstrated expertise in compelling, community-focused storytelling. Strong editorial judgment and a thorough understanding of journalistic ethics and libel laws. Genuine curiosity about the people, issues, and events shaping Las Vegas, Nevada, and the world. A deep understanding of content strategy and how strong storytelling can serve audiences across platforms. A coaching mindset and a passion for helping journalists develop their craft and reach their potential. The ability to collaborate, communicate a creative vision, and establish trust across a newsroom. Sound judgment and composure in a fast-moving news environment where priorities and deadlines can change quickly. Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, early mornings, and holidays. Ability and willingness to work onsite and drive as required to fulfill job responsibilities. OUR TEAM: At KTNV, you’ll join a newsroom united by curiosity, creativity, and a commitment to serving the community through meaningful journalism. Our team brings different backgrounds, experiences, interests, and perspectives to the stories we tell. We value collaboration, thoughtful feedback, strong editorial standards, and the willingness to keep improving our craft. As Executive Reporter, you’ll play an important role in creating an environment where journalists learn from one another, take creative approaches to storytelling, and do work that matters to the people of Las Vegas. WHERE YOU'LL LIVE, WORK, AND PLAY: Las Vegas offers much more than its world-famous entertainment corridor. The region combines big-city energy with distinctive neighborhoods, a thriving food and entertainment scene, and countless opportunities to discover the people and stories that make Southern Nevada unique. For a curious journalist, it’s a dynamic
