TransUnion's Job Applicant Privacy Notice Team Overview The Accounting Director is a seasoned accounting professional with deep expertise in U.S. GAAP, local statutory accounting requirements, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance, financial reporting, audit management, and statutory compliance. This individual will possess strong project management and stakeholder management skills, enabling effective collaboration with local business partners and TransUnion's Global Controllership organization. The role is responsible for ensuring the completeness, accuracy, and integrity of the region’s U.S. GAAP financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets; overseeing the design and execution of SOX controls across the region; and leading the timely and accurate completion of statutory audits and compliance requirements. The successful candidate will drive financial governance, support business objectives, and maintain adherence to global accounting and control standards. This role has a dual reporting relationship to the VP, Controller – International Segment (primary manager) and the VP, Regional CFO – Canada (matrix manager). Based in Burlington, Ontario, the position supports the overall regional controllership function and collaborates closely with both local and global finance teams.

This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week. Role Overview And Core Responsibilities Own and ensure the completeness and accuracy of the regional income statement and balance sheet under US GAAP. Ensure execution of key SOX controls and oversee the overall SOX program for the region. Lead regional controllership team to ensure compliance with group policies/requirements. Ensure that all workstreams within the controllership function are operating efficiently and producing high quality results to ensure accurate financial reporting. Work collaboratively with the Global Process Leaders for invoice-to-cash, accounts payable, payroll, and record-to-report to ensure appropriate service levels are being delivered by the Global Financial Shared Services organization (as applicable) to ensure the accuracy of regional financial reporting and compliance with local regulatory requirements. Analyze the regional financial statements and explain changes in the income statement and balance sheet clearly and concisely to regional and International Segment leadership. Act as a key partner with the Canada Regional CFO, including proactively providing relevant information related to the accounting impact of business transactions in the region. Lead the development, review, execution, and ongoing management of intercompany agreements, ensuring alignment with accounting policies, transfer pricing requirements, tax regulations, and corporate governance standards. Review customer and vendor agreements to ensure financial terms, revenue recognition, pricing, payment terms, contractual obligations, risk provisions, and accounting implications comply with company policies and regulatory requirements. Oversee the integration of any acquired entities into the Canada regional controllership structure. Act as primary point of contact for all accounting issues impacting the region (both US GAAP and local GAAP). Coordinate with auditors to ensure successful completion of both US GAAP audit and statutory audits. Oversee the timely completion of required statutory audits for all entities within the region. Continually assess for opportunities to improve, standardize, and streamline current processes. Oversee and develop local controllership team to build a high-quality pipeline of talent.
