Job Posting Title: Assistant Professor of Anatomy Position Type: Faculty Department: LSUAM VetMed - School of Comparative Biomedical Sciences (Alexander Murashov (00082114)) Work Location: Veterinary Medicine Pay Grade: Academic Job Description: The Anatomy Assistant Professor (Clinical track) participates in the delivery of lecture and laboratory material (gross- and micro-anatomy) for the Form & Function courses to first year veterinary students in the veterinary professional curriculum; assists with the preparation of all teaching materials related to the assigned teaching responsibilities; conducts scholarly activities; mentors professional and graduate students and contributes service at the department, school, and university levels. Job Responsibilities: 60% - The assistant professor participates in the delivery of lecture material and the laboratory anatomy courses to first year veterinary students in the veterinary professional curriculum. 25% -The assistant professor assists with the preparation of all teaching materials related to the assigned teaching responsibilities. These duties include doing prosections, embalming, and maintaining specimen collection, and performing other duties as assigned 10% -The assistant professor mentors professional and graduate students and contributes service at the department, school, and university level. 5% - The assistant professor conducts scholarly activities. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements: DVM or equivalent (Applicants with a Ph.D. in a related field are encouraged to apply.) Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. and 1+ years of teaching experience in gross anatomy laboratory/lecture settings Special and Physical Qualifications: Safety and Security Sensitive Job - Safety and security-sensitive positions are defined as those positions where any form of substance abuse may affect University activities through unsafe work behavior/performance or error in judgment; or where substance abuse could jeopardize the safety and well-being of employees, other personnel, or the general public, or cause significant damage to University property.
